Hyas Associates have been appointed to provide consultancy support to 2 of the Garden Villages announced by Government in January 2017.
Hyas are supporting Mid Devon District Council for a locally-led garden village of up to 5,000 houses on land to the East of Cullompton, known as Culm Garden Village. The support involves helping evolve a project plan and implement key workstreams to support the proposals progression through planning.
Hyas have also been appointed to provide expert support to Carlisle City Council in delivering the St Cuthbert’s Garden Village. Hyas expertise will focus on setting up a governance structure for the Council to manage the project; creating a detailed project management framework; procuring masterplanning work for the new settlement; and advising on engagement with the local landowners and community. The Council are working towards adopting a Development Plan Document for St Cuthbert’s by late 2018 and Hyas support will help to underpin this process.
These two additional projects add to a growing workload of support to the Government’s Garden Towns & Villages programme, with Hyas also supporting the North Essex Garden Communities and Aylesbury Garden Town. Members of the Hyas team are also involved in wider delivery initiatives including the potential for New Town style Development Corporations to deliver such large scale growth projects.
