Matt Bowers

Matt is an Associate Director at Hyas and has over 20 years experience in public sector place based roles, over 10 years of which has been as part of senior management and leadership teams in Local Authorities. He has led multidisciplinary teams on programmes and projects including the production of new plans and strategies, capital projects such as a city centre public realm programme and successful bids for Local Growth Funding, Future High Street Fund, Local Sustainable Transport Fund and Levelling Up Funds. Matthew has a track record of leading, motivating and managing teams to achieve high performance and significant sustainable improvement. He started his career as a town planner with a focus on project based regeneration roles and planning policy development, particularly in relation to Town Centres. In his previous roles in Tamworth and Hinckley Councils, Matthew has maintained this interest and has also led on the unlocking of key strategic residential and commercial development sites.
