South Staffordshire Strategic Development Framework

Hyas were working with South Staffordshire Council and site promoters to prepare Strategic Development Frameworks for four proposed strategic housing allocations in the Council’s emerging Local Plan – to deliver over 5000 new homes. Our role involved working collaboratively across all parties and stakeholders, to ensure quality place making is embedded throughout the planning process, advising and leading on engagement, and setting a vision and objectives for each site.
An important output of this work was to demonstrate that the overall masterplanning process is sufficiently advanced to prove that the sites are deliverable in the adopted Local Plan.

In relation to 4 emerging strategic site allocations, Hyas were commissioned by South Staffs Council to:
1. review technical baseline data in relation to each site and identify potential gaps;
2. prepare of a Vision and set of supporting Objectives for each location;
3. lead engagement with technical stakeholders, statutory consultees, and political groups;
4. prepare a concept plan for each of the strategic sites, to form part of the emerging local plan;
5. advise and support site promoters to prepare a Strategic Development Framework for each of the sites, to guide future development; and
6. support the Council in preparation for Reg 19 consultation of their emerging Local Plan.
