Tom James

Associate Director

Tom James is an Associate Director at Hyas, with over 15 years experience across the public and private sector. Tom is based in our Birmingham office at The STEAMhouse, but works nationally.  He brings a wealth of public and private sector experience, having coordinated a range of planning-related projects. This has incorporated different elements of the plan-making process including leading plans successfully through examination, alongside bringing large scale development sites forward.

Tom has extensive experience of project management, stakeholder engagement, policy preparation and site delivery. He most recently worked in the private sector, where he was responsible for coordinating development projects at a range of scales for both housing and commercial uses. He also led the coordination of a Supplementary Planning Document for the University of Warwick Innovation Campus, a major Research and Development facility in Stratford-on-Avon District.
